Union Pacific Center Cupola Caboose #25228. Union Pacific Center Cupola Caboose 25228. Located on the Crew Car Track next to the Main Yard. Roller Bearing T-Bar Caboose trucks. Built 5/52. Signs on sides read, "We're A Great Big / Rolling Railroad". We have virtually completed conversion of this car into a dispatcher's office in the cupola and downstairs at the east end and into a first aid center at the west end downstairs. The only change to the exterior look of the caboose was replacing the cupola windows with double pained insulated windows to reduce the heat for the dispatcher in summer. When the Main Yard has remotely operated switches, then it will become a CTC as well. Activation of the toilet awaits septic/sewer approval, which required approval of Train Mountain as a destination resort. (3/01)
